Steps to install grid
connected solar power system:
Step 1: Contact
Contact Tambo Valley Electrics
and we will arrange a site visit.
Step 2: Site Visit
Tambo Valley Electrics will
meet to discuss your needs, do a preliminary
design and give you a quotation.
Step 3: Electricity
Retailer
Customer to contact electricity
retailer(s) and negotiate suitable tariff (this
is if customer is with another retailer other
than SP Ausnet).
Step 4: Final design
and Apply for Photovoltaic Rebate Program (PVRP)
Tambo Valley Electrics will
complete Photovoltaic Rebate Program Residential
Application for pre-approval on your behalf. A
copy of your drivers license (front and back)
and a recent copy of your rates notice is
required with this application.
Step 5: Intent to
connect
- The customer must send a letter to the
distribution business (SP Ausnet) advising
of their intention to connect their
generator to the electricity network. The
customer should provide an overview of the
system that is to be installed. Tambo Valley
Electrics will assist you with this and send
it in on your behalf.
- SP Ausnet will reply sending a letter
confirming that the generator can be
connected and will send a connection
agreement to be signed.
- You will sign this and send it back to
SP Ausnet.
Step 6: Construction
Tambo Valley Electrics will
install the system.
Step 7: Lock Isolating
Switch
Following installation the
isolation switch must be locked in the open
position to prevent the generator form
connecting to the network until a Certificate of
Electrical Safety (CES) is obtained and the
metering has been upgraded.
Step 8: Switch On
System switch on and final
tests.
Step 9: Certificate of
Electrical Safety
A copy of the Certificate of
Electrical Safety to be sent to the distributor.
Step 10: Notify Retailer
The customer should notify the
retailer once the new generator is operational.
Step 11: Claim PVRP (if
elgible)
You will receive a copy of the
Installation Report with the notification of
pre-approval. When the system has been
installed, you must forward the completed
Installation Report. Tambo Valley Electrics will
do this on your behalf.
